Marine Biology Internship (closed)

Brief Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic intern (unpaid) to join our Reefscapers team, based at an island resort in the Maldives. It’s an exciting opportunities to expand your experience, while working alongside our international team of marine biologists.

✅ Work period: 3 months, from September to November 2024.
✅ There is no charge to join our internship programme, but no salary is paid. All food, accommodation and internal travel is provided.
✅ Approximately 50% of our interns are later hired in full-time Reefscapers roles, or find work elsewhere in the Maldives.

The ideal applicant will be :

✅ A graduate (essential) in a relevant discipline (Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Aquaculture, Animal Care).
✅ A confident ocean swimmer and qualified diver; 10m freediver (preferred).
✅ Already experienced in coral ID and coral propagation techniques (preferred).

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

✅ Assisting with our conservation projects: coral propagation, turtle conservation, guest excursions, education, aquaculture.
✅ Writing reports (with photographs) of your work and experiences, for publication on our website.
