Sponsor a Complete REEFSCAPERS Ecosystem

Sponsor a Reefscapers reef ecosystem

When planted as a group, a series of REEFSCAPERS coral frames creates an artificial reef system within a sandy lagoon. This encourages fish and  other marine life to establish habitats, quickly establishing a newly biodiverse marine ecosystem. After several years, these coral colonies will start to spawn, releasing gametes into the ocean currents, for settlement and growth in the surrounding areas. By harvesting and propagating corals that  have survived the recent global coral bleaching events, we aim to increase overall heat tolerance and promote resilience against future marine heatwaves.

For corporate sponsors looking for large-scale conservation initiatives, we can design and implement whole reefs to your bespoke specifications.

Growth Progression of REEFSCAPERS Coral Frames

Our coral frames are initially planted with small coral fragments, pruned from healthy donor colonies. Under optimal conditions, and with regular care and maintenance from our teams, these colonies can completely cover their frame within a few years.

We regularly maintain and photograph our frames to share updates with our generous sponsors.

Our coral frames quickly provide new marine habitats for a variety of marine life, offering shelter from predators and providing supplemental food sources.

Planted individually, a single frame quickly integrates into the wider marine ecosystem, encouraging biological diversity by extending and enhancing the natural reef formations around the island. The introduction of diverse branching coral species provides vital habitats for small and juvenile fish, as well as a sustainable food source for algal grazers.
