Vacancy: Assistant Coral Biologist (CLOSED)

Brief Job Description

We have a vacancy for an Assistant Coral Biologist, to help with our Reefscapers Coral Propagation Project and research programs, resident at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives.

This junior role is best suited to enthusiastic, hard-working candidates with a love for the ocean, wanting to gain valuable work experience.

The Role

☑️ Work with our Coral Biologist to develop all necessary skills to manage our coral propagation project.
☑️ Collect coral fragments to create new frames; maintain, monitor, photograph existing frames. Database updates.
☑️ Conduct marine presentations and guide snorkel trips for Resort guests.

The Ideal Candidate

✅ Maldivian national preferred.
✅ BSc (or equivalent) in Marine Sciences, or a similar field (Marine Biology, Environmental Science).
✅ Experience in: coral biology, ID and handling, as well as tropical marine conservation & awareness.
✅ Confident swimmer/freediver, with SCUBA certification.
✅ Physically fit non-smoker, able to carry 20kg weight and work long hours in the ocean in all weathers.
